 Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station (exit B at 10:30am) > Nam Long Shan Road > The Brick Hill (under cable car route) > Singaporean International School > Mt. Johnston at Apleichau 


This Sunday, March. 5, 2017, the trampers are going to have a two-boot walk for The Brick Hill (Nam Long Shan) and Mt. Johnston (Yuk Kwai Shan) where is located at the southern part of Hong Kong Island near Ocean Park at Wong Chuk Hang and Aberdeen.  From both summits, we could overlook the South China Sea in the south.  On the eastern slope of Brick Hill (Nam Long Shan), we could find Ocean Park cable car system is connecting through its north to its south.  Mt. Johnston (Yuk Kwai Shan) is the highest point with an altitude of 196 metres only on Apleichau Island which an island next to Aberdeen and it is the second most densely populated island in the world.

We will meet at 10:30am, outside the turnstile of exit B, Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station which is a brand new Station on its South Island Line.  From the station, we will start the walk and head up directly to the summit of The Brick Hill at the height of 247m via Nam Long Shan Road where is on its western slope.  After enjoying the wonderful view on top of the hill, we will take a dirth path on its eastern slope where we will find the cable cars from Ocean Park riding on top of us in a short distance.  Keep moving on, we will end the first leg of this walk at Singaporean International School at Shum Wan.  The second leg of the walk will be Mt. Johnston at Apleichau and it will be one the best places for enjoying the sunset on Hong Kong Island.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears withat least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, snacks, umbrella, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
