Itinerary

This Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, the trampers are going to have a two boots walk for The Rocky Horse where is an alternative option to climb The Lion Rock.

We will meet at 9:00am, outside the turnstile of exit B3, Wong Tai Sin MTR Station and share the mini bus no. 37M to Shatin Pass Estate to start the walk.  We will take the stairs and a dirt path next to Fat Chong Temple to get into an abandon quarry.  Moving to the right hand side of this quarry, there is a steep slope leading us to the Rocky Horse.  Keeping climbing along the edge of this ridge, we will head up to the summit of Lion Rock through the Fool Tower.  Over the summit, it provides us a great view overlooking around the city of Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island.  After our lunch break, we will descend to the MacLehose Trail Stage 5 to Kau Lan Pass and then to Tin Ma Court to end the walk.  Mini bus no. 53 will be available for Lok Fu MTR.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears withat least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, snacks, umbrella, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
