This Sunday, January 22, the trampers are going to have a 3 boots walk but relatively short for a hidden narrow passage, the Lower White Jaw on Lantau Peak.

We will meet at 10:30am outside the turnstile of exit B at Tung Chung MTR Station and then take bus no. 23 to Ngong Ping where is a famous tourist attraction due to the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery.  Over there, we will follow the Lantau Trail (stage 3) moving towards Lantau Peak but we will skip before the long and uneven stairs leading up to the Peak.  Making a left turn and heading up to a stone river with a challenging steep slope directly to the gap between the Lantau Peak and its north ridge.  After lunch break over the summit, we will descend to Lower White Jaw via Lou Hon Tower.  Passing through this hidden narrow passage, we will hit again the Lantau Trail (stage 3) and end the walk at Pak Kung Au.  Buses will be available for Tung Chung and Mui Wo.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears withat least 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, wind breaker, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
