This Sunday January 15th, 2017, the Trampers are going to the beautiful Ng Tung Chai waterfalls with lots of variety on this challenging route to satisfy the experienced hikers.  The hike starts off ascending gradually to the waterfalls with 4 stops.  Lunch at the main fall.  Hike continues on more steps to the 765m Sze Fong Pavillion.  The plateau allows some of us to run freely for a great workout, followed by a long descent on moss covered slippery rocks to Tai Po.  Optional afternoon tea at Cantonese restaurant near Tai Po Market MTR.

This hike involves some rock scrambling, walking on slippery moss covered stones on shaded dirt parth and climbing up flights of rocky steps.  Please join the event with considerations of your hiking experience, fitness level and HK climate.  No washroom factility during the first 3 hours of hike and no replenishment until reaching the trail end.  Duration of the hike is about 5 hours.  Best to use the washroom at MTR station before exiting the gate.  Bring at least 2 L of water and /or energy drinks, snacks and gruits.  Proper clothing for hiking and shoes with good tread/grip.  Gloves, hat, umbrella, hiking poles, flashlight, sunglasses, sunblock, Octopus card, just small amount of cash, dry clothing, towels, jacket. etc.

If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
