This Sunday, the Christmas Day, December 25, 2016, the trampers are going to have a happy one boot walk for the beautiful Tiu Tang Lung where is located at the north eastern part of N.T.

We will meet at 10:00am outside the turnstile, near the ticketing office of Tai Po Market MTR Station.  From the station, we will take the bus 275R directly to Bride’s Pool to start the walk.  First of all, we will take the Bride’s Pool Nature Trail to Kau Tam Tso at Wu Kau Tang.  Then we will head up to Tiu Tang Lung via its south ridge which is quite a physically demanding steep slope.  After climbing up to the summit at the height of about 416m, we all will enjoy a 360° panoramic scenery especially for Double Haven (Yan Chau Tong).  It is renowned for its splendid scenery and unspoilt natural beauty due to Double Haven was the first Marine Park designated in Hong Kong in order to protect the ecology and wildlife of the marine creatures.  After a long break of overlooking around, we will take a dirt path to A Ma Wat through Fan Kei Tok at direction east.  From A Ma Wat, we will make a left turn and follow the country trial back to Tin Sam Village at Wu Kau Tang to end the walk.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears withat least 1 litre of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
