This Sunday, December 4, 2016, the trampers are going to have a two boots leisure walk on “Rooster Ridge”, Kai Kung Leng locating at the Northwestern part of N.T., just close to Kam Tin Lowland.

We will meet at 10:00am, outside the turnstile of exit F, Yuen Long MTR Station.  Sharing taxi directly to Fung Kat Heung Where we could start the walk.  At the beginning, we will be warmed up by heading up a steep slope.  The trail along the ridge is quite gentle but completely exposed and actually there is no shade until the end.  Due to no shadow and nothing block, it offers us a clear panoramic view.  We could enjoy the distance view of Kam Tin Lowland including Shek Kong Military Airfield, Nam Sang Wai wetland and even ShenZhen, Mainland.  On the last leg, we will take a loose gravel, dirt and dense-bush path descending to Chiu Keng on Fan Kam Road by passing through some farmlands.  Over there, mini bus or bus will be available for Sheung Shui MTR and Kam Sheung Road MTR.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears with 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
