Tsuen Wan MTR Station (10am) > Tsing Lung Tau San Tsuen > Yuen Tun Camp > Tai Lam Chung Reservoir > Pak Shek Hang > Wong Nai Tun Reservoir > Yeung Ka Tsuen, Yuen Long

This Sunday, November 20, 2016, the trampers are going to have a two boots walk for the beautiful Tai Lam Chung Reservoir which is the first reservoir built in Hong Kong after the Second World War.  Because of some tiny islands distribute in the reservoir and it is so called “Thousand Islands Lake”.

We will meet at 10:00am outside the turnstile of exit B3 of Tsuen Wan MTR Station and will share taxi or mini bus directly to Tsing Lung Tau to commence the walk.  We will take a concrete path from Tsing Lung Tau San Tsuen heading up to Yuen Tun Camp.  Then, passing through the bushes, we will ascend to an unknown hill at the height of about 350 metres where we could have a spectacular view of the Thousand Islands.  Taking a long stair down to the main dam of the reservoir, we will go ahead to Pak Shek Hang which we need to climb up the steep hill slope where offer us another great view of the Thousand Islands on the other side of the reservoir.  Over there, we start to descend all the way down to Yeung Ka Tsuen, Tai Tong via a small reservoir, Wong Nai Tun to end the walk.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears with 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray (but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
