Itinerary

This Sunday, November 13, 2016, the trampers are going to have an easy walk on the beautiful Jin Island and we will explore the Goldfish Wagging Tail which is one of the four largest sea arches in Hong Kong.  It is located at the south of Kau Sai Chau at Port Shelter (Ngau Mei Hoi), from which it is separated by a narrow channel.

We will meet at 10:00am at the 7.11 Convenience Store (next to bus terminus) at Sai Kung Town Center.  We will share a water-taxi or sampan from Sai Kung Pier directly to Tai Wong Wan, just a small beach on Jin Island to start the walk.  Following a dirt path, we will ascend to the peak with the height of about 120m where provides a natural platform for enjoying the gorgeous view of the perfect shape of the Goldfish on the seacoast.  After a long break for photo taking, we will head down to the Goldfish, Kam Chung Ngam.  From the coast over there, we will find the famous sea arch which is underneath between the body and tail of the Goldfish.  At the final stage, we need to head back to the small beach for the boat returning to Sai Kung Pier.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears withat least 1 litre of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
