Sai Kung Town Centre (7.11 Convenience Store near bus terminus @ 10:00am)  >  Main Dam (East Dam) of High Island Reservoir > Po Pin Chau > Pak Lap Tsai > Mok Min Seacave > Pak Lap Wan > Tung A > Pak A

This Sunday, October 16, 2016, the trampers are going to experience the wonders of nature about 140 million years ago.  Volcanic activities left the beautiful senery of hexagonal rock columns and seacaves along the coastline of High Island Reservoir.

We will meet at 10:00am at Seven Eleven Convenience Store near the bus terminus of Sai Kung Town Center.  Then we will share taxi heading to the Main Dam locating in the far south eastern part of Sai Kung Peninsula near Po Pin Chau which is a cut-away island.  Start walking from the Main Dam, we will enjoy the amazing rock formation as well as the chopsticks-cliff at Po Pin Chau.  Along the coastline, we will find the Mok Min Seacave which is formed primarily by the wave action of the sea against the weak zone of the rocks.  We could get inside and walk through of the seacave when water tide is low.  After visiting the seacave, we will reach Pak Lap Wan where is rated in the top ten beaches in Hong Kong.  Keep moving, we will come to the last leg of the walk by passing the old fishing villages, Tung A (East A) and Pak A (North A).  To end the walk, we will try to get on boat if available or taxi back to Sai Kung Town.

Bushwhacking and good balancing skill will be required.  Please show up in full gears with 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, gloves and mos-spray(but no cigarette).  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
