Itinerary

Again & again ! ! !  !   !    Taking advantage of low water tide on this coming Sunday, July 31, 2016, trampers are going to have a snorkeling tour on Sharp Island.  This is the largest island in the Kiu Tsui Country Park located at Port shelter of Sai Kung.  When water tide is low, we can go to an inshore islet named Kiu Tau on foot passing through the tombolo.

We will meet at 9:00am at the bus terminus of Sai Kung Town Centre (opposite of 7.11 Convenience Store) and share the sampan directly to Sharp Island in about 25 mins.  This island is famous for snorkelling due to its beautiful seabed with many different kinds of corals.  We could have a coastal walk on this island of course.  At about 5:00pm, after showering at the public toilets on Sharp Island, we will take the sampan back to Sai Kung Town.  So, besides additional set of clothes to change, some necessities also need to be considered such as flip flops or sandals, towel, sun glasses, plastic or foamed buoys, shelter or shade and plastic sheeting for the beach.  Meanwhile, please have extra plastic garbage bags for keeping clean on this island.

Please show up in full snorkelling gears (including life jacket if need) with 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, rain wear, a torch, sun block, hat, gloves and mos-spray.  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, this event may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
