(Warning: This hike involves some strenuous climbs and walking on narrow ridges with cautious.)

This Sunday, March 27, 2016, the trampers are going to have a 3-boots walk to the Ma On Shan Peak.  We will meet at 10:15am at Exit B of Hang On MTR Station (Ma On Shan Line) and start the walk heading up to the BBQ site of Ma On Shan Country Park.  Warming up on a family trail, we will soon get on a rough and steep trail to Tiu Shau Ngam with splendid views over Tolo Harbour, Ma Shi Chau and Pat Sin Leng.  The next path uphill becomes narrow and wooded, leads to the hilltop of the Hunch Back.  Riding on the saddle will be an exciting part of the hike to top of the Ma On Shan Peak which gives majestic views over Three Fathoms Cove and Sai Kung ocean.  A rocky and steep downhill takes us to the Maclehose Section 4.  A relatively easier ascent to the Pyramid Hill, gives beautiful views of Sai Kung.  Slowly descending on gravels to Ngong Ping, we are going to relax on grass and watch the colourful paragliders.  At the final stage, we will descend the forest trail to Hang On or Tai Shiu Hang.

Good balancing skill will be required.  Suggest to bring 2 litres of water/energy drink, lunch, snacks, fruits, rain wear, a flashlight, hat, sunblock, gloves, insect repellent, towel, extra clothing, First-Aid Kit.  If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled.  If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
