A 3 BOOT long distance hiking route is proposed for 11 October 2015 in Tai Mo Shan and Shing Mun Country Parks.

We will meet at 8:30 am (please note the early starting time) at Tsuen Wan Station near exit B and go to Chuen Lung by mini-bus. Then we will spend about three hours at Tai Cho Stream arising to about 650 m and rejoin Tai Mo Shan Road. We will continue to Tai Mo Shan Radar Station and then descend to Lead Mine Pass. Further walk may continue to Grass Hill then to Needle Hill before arriving Shing Mun Reservior Main Dam Mini Bus Stop.  

Early exit will be available at various location.

The hiking is, by Trampers standard, rated as 3-boots and involves long distance of about 20 km and 7-8 hours walk.  It is suggested that only experienced hikers shall participate.

Please bring the usual stuff plus pair of thick gloves and long trousers as some bushwhacking will be involved. Non-slip shoes suitable for stream trekking is essential.  Weather forecast is mainly cloudy with a few showers, and sunny intervals during the date with temperature of 28-32 degC .  So plenty of water, hat, gloves, sun block, head lamps and torch and clothes to change etc are essential.
