1.   This Sunday,16th August 2015, we’ll do a walk in two streams near Tai Po in the north-eastern part of the New Territoires.  We’ll meet at 10.00 a.m. at the customer services cum ticketing office inside Tai Po Market MTR station.

2.     From the MTR station, we’ll walk to Wun Yiu where we’ll start the walk in Yin Ngam Stream.   We’ll walk upstream in a south westerly direction for about 3 hours  until hitting MacLehose Trail.  We’ll walk along the trail, on dry land, in an easterly direction for one hour to the foothills of Grassy Hill to find the Ta Tit Yan Stream.  We’ll walk down the Ta Tit Yan Stream in a northerly direction, again for about 3 hours, to Ta Tit Yan Village to end the day’s walk there.

3.     Be forewarned that stream walk is slippery and you should wear skid-resistant shoes.  One very good brand is ‘5.10’  and it seems it is only available in one shop in Hong Kong.  If you need further information on skid-resistant shoes, please call the Trampers hotline below.

4.   Bring all the usual things, a lunch, enough water, a torch, sun block, mos spray and if weather looks dodgy, rain gear.

5.   If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk might be cancelled. If in doubt, call the Trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.

6.     Please scroll down and read the Disclaimer below again.
