With the rains in the last week, we will start the first stream trekking in 2015 !

On this coming Sunday,  we are going to have a three-boots stream trekking at Double Deer, Sai Kung East Country Park. We will meet at 10:00am at Pak Tam Chung bus terminal.

[You may take a bus 96R from Diamond Hill MTR Bus Station for Wong Shek Pier and alight at Pak Tam Chung, journey time about 75 minutes].

From Pak Tam Chung, we will share taxi directly to Sai Wan Pavilion to start our hiking. After reaching Sai Wan Beach, we will follow the stream on the beach where is the entrance of Double Deer. There is shady path along the stream and also waterfalls and pools around. Of course, many big & deep rock pools which will be good for a dip before catching the country trail back to Pak Tam Road near Lady MacLehose Holiday Village. Buses will be available there for Sai Kung Town or Diamond Hill MTR Station.

Bushwhacking will be involved. Please show up with full gears, walking shoes with non-slippery sole and suitable for stream trekking, 2 litres water, lunch, snacks, heavy gloves, headlight and swim wear. If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk may be cancelled. If in doubt, call the trampers hotline at 8209 0517 in the morning.
