1.     This Sunday, 25th January 2015, we’ll do a walk in the northern part of the New Territories.  We’ll meet at 10.30 a.m. at the customer services/ticketing counter inside Tai Po Market MTR Station (on the East Rail).

2.     From the MTR Station we’ll either walk or take transport to Lin Au.  When we arrive at the Au, we’ll walk in a south-westerly direction, first to Siu Om Shan, and then further to Tai Om Shan.  After the Shan’s, we’ll turn and walk south and start the real climb up Tai Mo Shan, the highest mountain in the HKSAR.

3.     We’ll hit the MacLehose Trail which runs along the ridge of Tai Mo Shan; but before long we’ll exit MacLehose Trail to find either a way to descend Kwun Yum Shan to Lam Kam Road in Tai Po or another way to Tsuen Wan.

4.    Bring all the usual things, a lunch, enough water, a torch, sun block, mos spray and if weather looks dodgy, rain gear.

5.    If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk might be cancelled. If in doubt, call the Trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
