A 1.5 BOOT route is proposed for 2 February 2014 (being the third day of the Chinese New Year) around Lam Tsuen Country Park, Tai Po, New Territories to mark the beginning of the Year of the HORSE. It would be your year if you are 12, 24, 36, 48 and ...years old in 2014.

We will meet at 10:30 am at Tai Wo Station Concourse near Customer Service Area [Exit A] and take bus 64K to the starting point of the hiking near the Kadoorie Farm. We will climb a few hundred steps to Tai To Yan (a narrow rdige so called the blade of a knife). If weather is good, we will have good views of the Lam Tsuen River Valley and Shek Kong.

After North Tai To Yan, we will go downhill to the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree via the Ngau Kwu Leng Hiking Trail to make our wishes at the Wishing Tree. After the shopping at village, we wil take bus or maxicab back to Tai Wo Station at around 4:00 pm.  It will be very busy at the Wishing Tree but there will be a few things to see during New Year time.

Please bring the usual stuff plus pair of gloves, long trousers, water and lunch etc.
