On this Sunday we will do a loop in the Tung Chung area.  The length and the route of this hike will be quite flexible and is subject to the condition of the trail and the group

We will meet at 10:30 am, at the outside of the Tung Chung MTR Station Concourse at Exit B.  From Tung Chung, we will walk to the base of Pok To Yan and start climbing this infamous Shan.  Pok To Yan means thin blade of a knife.  It is not an easy task to climb the sharp incline of the Shan.  Nevertheless, the view from the top of the Shan will be spectacular.  Depends on our condition, we may hike to Lin Fa Shan (the fourth highest Shan in HK), or go direct to Sheung Tung Au, before scaling Sunset Peak (the third highest).  If we are lucky, we may be able to find the secret entrance of the trail leading to Shek Sze Shan then descend to Tung Chung through Wo Liu Tun and Chek Lap Kok New Village.  Else, we will take the Lantau Trail to Pak Kung Au and bus back to Tung Chung.

This is a hard 3-boot hike and is not mean for those who are new to hiking and those who are not able to take good care of him/herself in the wild.

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular sufficient water, hiking shoes with good traction, sun block, a hat, and a warm jacket / wind breaker.  The walk will be cancelled if it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning).  If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call the hot line 8209-0517.  Please don't be late.
