1.      This Sunday, 9thJune 2013, we’ll do a walk in the western part of the New Territories.  We’ll meet at 10.30 a.m. at Exit C inside Tsuen Wan MTR Station (MTR Tsuen Wan Line)

2.     From the MTR Station we’ll take transport to Tsing Lung Tau where we’ll start walking.

3.     We’ll walk up to wooded area southeast of Tai Lam Chung Reservoir.  There is a maze of trails there and we’ll try and find one which will eventually connect us to the Yuen Tun Country Trail.  After a short while on the country trail, we start stream trekking near Wing Kat Bridge.

4.     The stream along which we’ll walk feeds water into Tai Lam Chung Reservoir.  We’ll walk upstream in an south-easterly direction for about an hour to arrive at a large rock pool.  We’ll spend an hour or so swimming or otherwise lazing by the pool side.   And so bring your swim gear.

5.     After the time at the pool, we’ll start walking again, to Tsing Fai Tong to enjoy a beer or two at the garden restaurant there before heading back to Tsing Lung Tau to finish the walk there.

6     Bring all the usual things, a lunch, enough water, a torch, sun block, mos spray and if weather looks dodgy, rain gear.

7    If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk might be cancelled. If in doubt, call the Trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.
