We are a group of friends who enjoy exploring Hong Kong's countryside
on Sundays.
We
are not an organisation (in fact, we pride ourselves at having no
organising at all!), so there's no membership scheme nor joining fee.
Those interested in joining us on our walks need simply to show up at
the meeting point on the day of the walk. Itinerary for the week's walk
is usually posted onto the website by Saturday the latest.
We rate the level of difficulty of our walks by a count of boots, one being easy and three being demanding:
| Our
boot system |
 |
Easy relaxed walking, usually along the flat or with a few low hills involved. Suitable for inexperienced hikers. |
  |
More challenging walk, and usually longer (4-5 hours) but still
within the endurance and capability of most walkers. Would not involve
hills as high as 500 metres. |
   |
Requires endurance and not suitable for walkers who have difficulties
in high places. 3 boots maybe allocated to a walk because of its
length and/or because it involves elevations over 500 metres and/or
tough walking. Not recommended for novice hikers. |
