All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Now that the weather is cooler, it's time to challenge ourselves with a 3 booter.  Plover Cove boasts stunning scenery, but it's a long 18k hike around the reservior.  The fit and fast (no stragglers, please) need to come join laden with lots of water (at least 3 litres) snacks and lunch.

This coming Sunday 8th November we will meet at Tai Po KCR right outside Starbucks at 11 am. After that we will share taxis to Wu Kau Tang and commence the walk from there. The ten minute waiting rule applies.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late!

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water, lunch, good shoes, sun block and a hat.

I would like to say thanks to Caroline for being our leader in the Plover Cove hike last weekend. It was my first time hiking since moving to Hong Kong, and very enjoyable aside from the bugs in the final stretch. Hopefully others can learn a lesson from my failure to apply sunscreen after seeing the cloud filled sky in the morning. Chinese people have been calling me a red neck all week innocently failing to know the condescending implications. Nice to meet everyone I talked to and hope to join another.

Dear Elders,

Could you please delete the walk proposal dated 25 October 2009 ( Dog's Teeth Ridge ), as few Trampers were supposed to join the Plover Cove hike with Caroline and ended up waiting at Tung Chung! :-)

Liza

Caroline, Great hike thank you for organinsing. Not sure how we missed you at the end of the dam, must have been asleep after the burst of energy and running the last few kms. Hope you managed to get the usual free ice-cream at the Thai restaurant.
