Madonna has got inspired by Sarah Palin and has decided to pop into Hong Kong without telling anyone. Her plan is to do a new rendition of La Isla Bonita on top of Tap Mun. Of course we being the Trampers always are privy to news like this before everyone else.

We will meet at 10.25 am in Sai Kung near the taxi stand. Please be on time as we will leave sharp at 10.35 am. Pl note revised meeting time. We will take some sort of transport to Wong Shek Pier in time for the 11.30 am ferry to Tap Mun. This is a beautiful old island with a little bit of walking and definitely plenty of opportunities for a swim. We plan to chill and enjoy the tropical breeze all day.

After the concert on to of Tap Mun, we plan to find a sampan and find our way to Port Island (Chek Chau) which is uninhabited. Please note this is off the beaten track and with all Tramper outings has very high chance of being lost for several days. The cost is unknown but pl expect to pay 30 to 50 Hkd per person for a round trip.

If we are unable to locate transport then we head to Wan Tsai to find our way to Hoi Ha.If you wanna skip the second leg there are ferries back to Wong Shek and in any case its just a short swim to Sai Kung. In any case, every year we sacrifice a Tramper to the Shark God so let us know if you would like to volunteer. 

Please note ours is Non- smoking group please refrain from smoking on our hikes.

Please carry snacks, lunch and at least three litres of water. There are a few shops near the pier serving cold beer & some sea food.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late!

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water, good shoes, sun block, swimmers and a hat.
