All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

I dreamed last night of Sharp Peak wailing and moaning about this crazy tramper who runs up Sharp Peak every Saturday to read his newspaper. Now we are very close to nature and listen intently to the mountain gods so we have decided to go to Sharp Peak but Vince will not be allowed on this hike!

We'll meet at 10.30 am on Sunday, April 5 2009 at the Diamond Hill MTR station outside the turnstiles near the Hollywood plaza exit. From there we shall take our Tramper bus specially run by KMB on our behalf to the Wong Shek Pier. After that we are going to find a Sampan to take us to Nam She Wan and then take the North Route up Sharp Peak. This is an extremely steep and treacherous route so a good pair of hiking shoes is a must. After that we will make our way to the peninsula and then on to Ham Tin. There are a couple of options for the exit and we will see how it goes for time. Whatever exit we choose there will definitely be a big meal in Sai Kung after this.

This is a long 20+ km hike with a very steep ascent at the beginning with no exits as such so please come prepared for a long day out. Pl ensure you are carrying a torch with spare batteries.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. The ten minute waiting rule applies and remember not to be late!

Bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water at least three litres, good shoes, a torch and a hat. Also, bring some lunch for along the way.
