The global economic crisis has finally hit us. Banks are dissolving, institutions are disappearing and funds are crashing.  Its total mayhem and there is a global meltdown. We will soon be lining up for our daily garlic bread and our hourly beer. In fact its so bad that there are rumours that we will have to wait six minutes for the mtr. Everyone is really miserable. So the world has called upon the trampers find a quick and final solution. Now your average Joe would pack his bags and retire to a shack in Thailand and drink beer all day but not the trampers. We are hardy, resourceful and we have the perfect solution. Don't believe us? Please read on.......

The solution is really quite simple: "Free Ice Cream" No really just stop reading newspapers and join our this Sundays' hike which is going to end up with free ice cream.

We will meet outside the turnstiles near the newly opened Starbucks at 11.00 am Tai Po Market KCR and then take the minibus to Tai Mei Tuk. We will do the Monkey trail to Pat Sin Leng. The first hour is really tough and very steep so pl be prepared. Once over the first hill the rest is considerably easy going - just another 7 or 8 hills. Where the hike will end is uncertain but one thing that is certain is we will go to our favourite Thai restaurant for Global Economic Crisis Solving Ice Cream.

Pl be aware this is a really tough hike with a short rock scramble so pl come prepared.  

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late! The ten minute waiting rule applies.

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water, good shoes and a hat. Also, bring some lunch for along the way.
