| Tramper Xmas BBQ & hike on Dec 14 |
This is a closed event for the BBQ part but everyone is free to join for the hike. The BBQ is closed as we had to book and pay earlier. The hike is a shortish two boot three hour hike in Sai Kung.
We will meet outside the turnstiles at Choi Hung MTR near Exit C at 9.30 AM this coming Sunday Dec 14 and take the minibus to Sai Kung then just share taxis to the starting point. We plan to do Section 3 of the Mclehose with a couple of detours. The hike will be about three hours and is a proper two booter with a few ups and downs so the usual gear is necessary.
After the hike there is a washroom and we can change here then take a short taxi ride to the BBQ. The rest of the group is meeting directly there. Pl note an extra warm layer will help as the BBQ site is right next to the sea and tends to get chilly If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. The ten minute waiting rule applies and remember not to be late! Bring all the usual gear, in particular two litres water, good shoes, a light snack and a hat. Disclaimer:- People join this walk at their own risks.
