All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

This Sunday, 2nd November 2008, we'll do a walk in the Fanling area in the northeastern part of the New Territories.

  1. We'll meet at 10.45 am at the ticketing office (it is also called customer services centre) inside the Fanling train station (the East Rail).
  2. From Fanling train station we'll take transport to Lung Yeuk Tau (5m) which is a vast plain at the foothills of Lung Shan.  From Lung Yeuk Tau we'll start climbing up Lung Shan (360m) in a south easterly direction, and then decend the Shan to Lau Shui Heung Reservoir (50m) in a north easterly direction.
  3. From Lau Shui Heung Reservoir we'll climb again, this time up in a southerly direction to Cloudy Hill (440m), a place I have never liked as the government had concreted the hiking trails in the area.  Trampers know that I loathe concrete paths and so on Cloudy Hill we'll try and find a proper hiking trail to walk down from Coudy Hill to Yuen Leng, and so be prepared for some bush whacking before our beer and dinner.
  4. Bring all the usual things, a lunch, enough water, a torch, sun block, mos spray and if weather looks dodgy, rain gear.
  5. If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk might be cancelled. If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.

Note:- Please note that this walk and any other walks organised by me may finish late due to a host of different reasons.  The duration given on top of this walk proposal is only a rough estimate.  We may have to walk longer than the estimated time and so there is a possibility that we'll walk in the dark (i.e. after sunset).  It is prudent that you bring a small torch with you to this walk.

Disclaimer:- People join this walk and any other walks organised by me at their own risks.  I shall not be held responsible in any way for any injury or death incurred or any loss or damage to personal property caused due to whatever causes including, but not limited to, negligence, neglect, errors of judgement and inadequate orientation skills on my part.  The fact that you show up at the time and place on the day to join the walk is an implication that you have agreed to and accepted unconditionally this disclaimer
