All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Due to the resilient and persistant hot weather, we will do a double-stream trek this Sunday, August 31.   The trek will be long and some of the parts slippery and wet.   So do come prepared:-

  1. Cancel all appointments for the early afternoon and evening on Sunday.  Early exits may be possible if you are well versed with the area and can navigate your own way out of the streams and the woods.   For such cases, you are strongly advised to bring along a map of the area and trek in group.
  2. Equip with proper hat, hand and foot gear.  You will be required to walk and climb through the streams and rock pools.
  3. Bring sufficient water and snacks for along the way.  Swimmer and a spare set of clothes will come in handy.

We will meet inside the Tai Po Market Station of the East Rail Line of MTR, near the Customers' Services Centre, at 10.30 am - pl note revised meeting time.  Depending on the number of participants, we will either take the bus or taxi to the Bride's Pool and start the first leg of the trek along the Wang Chung Stream.  We will proceed to the Ping Nam Stream via the last section of the Wilson Trail.   There are 4 to 5 gorgeous water pools for a quick dip.  Non-swimmer may cool their feet and rest along the stream-shore.  If the trek is too wet and slippery, we will dip in those pools closer to the trail and consider hiking further on the Nam Chung Trail.  Depending on the pace and the actual situation of the day and the group, we may complete the Nam Chung Trail towards Fanling or end our trek at Luk Keng.

Please carry at least 2-3 litres of water, a torch, glooves and map; wear light coloured cotton/quick drying clothes and proper protection from the sun.  If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk may be cancelled.  In case of doubt on the morning of the waljk, call 8209-0517.  The ten minute wailting rule applies.

Disclaimer:- People join this walk at their own risks.  I shall not be held responsible for any injuries or death incurred or any loss or damage to personal property caused due to causes including, but not limited to, negligence, neglect, errors of judgement and inadequate orientation skills on my part.  The fact that you show up at the time and place on the walk is an implication that you  have agreed to and accepted unconditionally this disclaimer.
