All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

  • Bring a map, and learn to read it
  • Always let someone know where you are going
  • Walk in a group and NEVER leave the group without letting the group know and telling them where you are heading. We take the safety of all trampers very seriously, and will not leave an area if anyone is thought to be missing.
  • Know your limitations
  • Better to turn back than persist
  • Wear suitable footwear Proper walking shoes are those with a good grip on the sole. Some people also like boots with ankle support. Socks should be be thick at the toes and heel, and woollen ones are the best
  • Wear comfortable clothing Jeans are not recommended as they restrict movement, become heavy when wet and dry slowly
  • Best months for hiking are September to April
