All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

My previous weekend was particularly hard - Lying on the beach  under a beautiful blue sky, sipping all those cocktails, reading a couple of books and watching all that thin air in Bali - - it is such a tough life, I tell you. So this week ya we do something to ease the pain a wee bit just go up Sunset peak and to make it a bit easier we ascend Lin Fa Shan also along the way.

We will meet outside the Central Ferry Pier at 10.50 AM on this coming Sunday 15th June. We will catch the 11.00 am slow ferry to Mui Wo and kick off the hike from the pier itself. The walk is quite short approximately 12 kilometres but the ascent is 869 metres so be prepared for a tough afternoon. It is a long ascent to the top of Sunset peak and before we reach the top, we will make a short detour up Lin Fa Shan (766 m). We will retrace our steps back to the Lantau trail and continue on to Sunset Peak. After that we will descend down to the saddle and take the South Lantau Country Trail back to Mui Wo where we will go for dinner to a nice Turkish restaurant.

The trail is quite exposed so please come prepared for the hot weather.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will still go ahead. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late!

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water at least three litres, good shoes, sun block or rain gear and a hat. Also, bring some lunch / snacks / fruits for along the way.
