All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Walk on 8 June - The hike of the living dead

Written by John Ure,

Old trampers never die, sometimes they just look dead. Well, on Sunday 8 June we shall resurrect the dead, for a few hours at least. Bring your walking frames, wheelchairs and walking sticks for a 'last hurrah' as a bunch of elders, accompanied by some charitable younger Trampers to hold their arms and guide them down the slopes, make a brave effort to appear fit and fearless.

This hike will be a 2 boot. We will meet at 12 noon at Quarry Bay MTR Hang Seng Bank and make our way (eventually) to Stanley where we shall meet up with Caroline and Paul and Heather (who are attending the dragon boat races). Our route will take us through Quarry Gap and then cross country to Tai Tam Gap (this is the bit where we all get lost.) After a short stretch of Tai Tam Road we will hike along the footpath to the exit point to Stanley. The hike is about 8-10km (4-5 hours).

Bring all the usual paraphernalia, lots of water, good walking shoes or boots, packed lunch, sun block, water proof covers, etc.
