All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

*excludes travelling time

  • This weekend we'll explore the rural parts of the New Territories northwest of Fo Tan. We'll meet at 10.45 a.m. on Sunday, 1st June 2008 at Exit B of Fo Tan Train Station (East Rail)
  • 2. From near the train station we'll start walking up Kau To Shan (399m), then on to Ho Lek Pui and further on to Grass Hill (647m). From Grass Hill we'll walk to Tai Po to finish our walk.
  • 3. Bring all the usual things, a lunch, enough water, a torch, sun block, mos spray and if weather looks dodgy, rain gear.
  • 4. If it is raining hard or thunderstorms are threatening, the walk might be cancelled. If in doubt, call the trampers hotline 8209-0517 in the morning.

Note:- Please note that this walk and any other walks organised by me may finish late due to a host of different reasons.  The duration given on top of this walk proposal is only a rough estimate.  We may have to walk longer than the estimated time and so there is a possibility that we'll walk in the dark (i.e. after sunset).  It is prudent that you bring a small torch with you to this walk.

1. Walk Report - Fo Tan to Tai Po
Pictures here

Today’s hot and humid day didn’t keep 17 trampers from joining leader Francis on a hike from Fo Tan to Tai Po. Gathering at 10.45AM at Fo Tan station, we walked to the starting point of the walk where Francis engaged us in his usual mission-briefing.

Dear HK Trampers

I'm so glad to have found you guys on internet! Happy to learn that you guys will organise a hike this Sun from Fo Tan to Tai Po. I'd love to join in if its not raining cats and dogs

But please do text or call or leave me a voicemail if its been cancelled due to bad weather on that day so that I won't need to travel a LONG way from HK Island to Fo Tan. My mobile is 9721 8867

Many thanks and see you this Sun
Kay
