All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

It is the perfect time of the year to visit the Shui Lo Chu pools so we will do a walk / swim combination in Lantau on this coming Sunday, May 25, 2008.  Basically, we will do Lantau Stage 5 and then take the hidden trail to the bottom of the gorge for the rock pools. What with all the rain, the pools will be brimming so it should be fun.

We will meet outside the turnstiles at Tung Chung MTR at 10.00 AM - Please note the revised meeting time. We will catch a bus to reach the start of the trail at Nong Ping. There are a couple of steep ascents before we reach the turn off for the Shui Lo Chu Pools. We will walk at a fast pace without many breaks as we want to spend some time swimming so please come prepared. The rock pools are less frequented and there are several levels. The top tier is just an awesome place for a swim; we plan to spend a couple of hours there just lazing around. To get there is a bit of a rock scramble and the path is not clear so please come prepared with proper shoes, especially the descent is very tricky.

We will end the hike in Tai O and make our way to Stoep for our mandatory ten loaves of garlic bread!! Do carry swimming gear and a change of clothes.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk route will be altered. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late! The ten minute waiting rule applies.

Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water at least three litres, good shoes,  sun block, swim gear and a hat. Also, bring some lunch for along the way.
