All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

To join this Sunday's walk you have to pass a simple test:

First step            :  Go to your bedroom

Second step        : Look in the mirror

Third Step           : Ask yourself this question "Am I Mad?"

If without a blink or any sort of hesitation you get back an emphatic "Yes!!" then please read on otherwise do not bother.

We'll meet at 8.30 am on Sunday, Jan 27, 2008 at the Tai Po market KCR station just outside the turnstiles near the ticket counters. Pl note the revised meeting time. From there we shall take a minibus or share taxis to Wu Kau Tang to start off on a 28.45 kilometres hike. The whole day will be spent on a long series of hills in the Plover Cove country park (21 Km) and for fun we have included the peninsula extension also (14 Km to & fro). This hike requires tremendous amount of endurance & stamina.

Pl come prepared for about seven to eight hours of tramping without many breaks and expect to walk at a very brisk pace. There are no exits on this hike. We will end the hike at our favourite Thai restaurant in Tai Mei Tuk.

Please carry a good sized lunch, some snacks, chocolates, energy bars and about 4 litres of water. We can cache part of our water just before hiking in the peninsula to lighten our backpack. A torch is an absolute must on this hike.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will not be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. The ten minute waiting rule applies and remember not to be late!
