All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

It is time for us to visit HK Island. This Sunday,23 December 2007,we will meet at 11:30am at Starbucks next to Exit C of Tai Koo MTR Station

This is a great trail in the midst of the concrete jungle of HK Island. We will be ''in'' for a steep ascent and a bit of a scramble over big boulders on our way up the hill.Once we reach the top,we will then follow an overgrown trail down to Tai Tam Gap road. From there,we will follow the road to the start of the trail of Dragon's Back.We will end the hike in Shek O to treat ourselves to a nice refreshments or dinner.

Please bring the usual hiking essentials, plenty of water, lunch and snacks for along the way, also a fleece or wind-breaker to keep you warm.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. The ten minute waiting rules applies and remember not to be late!

1. Walk report
Eight Trampers gathered at Tai Koo MTR Station today. There was a bit of confusion starting at the meeting point,as it was posted that we have to meet up at Starbucks near Exit C,but unfortunately, that Starbucks wasn't there anymore.

We started the walk at Stage 2 of the Wilson Trail and our goal for today was to conquer the 532m Mount Parker via General Rock. The trail was a bit tricky and has so many turn-off's that we did a few wrong turn's and made the group to back track. Finally,we found the trail that supposed to lead us up General Rock, but again it was an obscured path that we completely missed it.The leader tried not to lose face, told the group to keep going and took the unmarked trail which leads up to Mount Parker. It was a steep ascent,we did a serious bush-whacking,and going uphill was hardwork,as the trail was wet and slippery from the rain the night before. It was also misty and the visibilty was poor,we have to call each other every now and then to make sure that everyone was nearby.By 3pm,we reached Mount Parker, then again we took another unmarked and overgrown trail, more bush-whacking on the way down Tai Tam Road.By then, everyone was soaked and exhausted that we decided to skip Dragon's Back and called it a day.

We will visit this beautiful trail next time, but on a clear and sunny day.
