All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Just after we reached the summit of Lantau Peak, Dirk came up with the perfect suggestion "Next week we walk on the beach ok!!" Nine other Trampers stared hard in my direction with a not so subtle expression that if you want to live then next week "No summits." Well this poses a challenge as to how to do a long walk that is reasonably tough and yet have no real summits. Well, there is one such walk; actually it is one of my favourites.

We'll meet at 11.00 am on Sunday, Nov 18, 2007 at the Tai Po KCR Station just below the escalators to New Town Plaza.  We will take a mini bus or share taxis to Wu Kai Tang to begin this long walk. Technically there are no real summits no no trust me really there are no real summits ok. Having said that do not be lulled into believing that the Plover Cove Circuit is easy. This is a very long walk about 21 kilometres and there are absolutely no exits to leave early. It is one long day of ups and downs, more ups and more downs, and then some.  The walk is quite exposed and has a couple of scree slopes that we need to descend right at the end.

If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. The ten minute waiting rule applies and remember not to be late!

Bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water at least three litres, good shoes, a torch and a hat. Also, bring some lunch for along the way.
