| Walk on 8th July 2007, Tung Chung to Tai O. |
It seems some of the Senior Trampers has evolved to the highest level of Tramping beyond my ability to participate involving night vision trekking without sleep. I am forced to propose a much easier and earlier walk for Sunday 08th July. The walk would be taken place in Tung Chung trekking to Tai O in Lantau Island. This walk should be one of the easiest walk ever proposed according to Trampers history. This would be a "MINUS 1 BOOT" walk. We would be meeting up at TUNG CHUNG MTR, EXIT B at 11:00am. After 10 minutes of waiting, we would start a South Westerly direction to Sha Tsui Hau then walk along the coastline of Tung Chung Bay heading towards Tai O, this walk would be hard to get lost since we would just follow the coastline and the sea would be at your right, if it starts to be on your left then you should be alerted that you are getting lost!!!! The walk would end at Tai O and participants can disperse and tour the village area or even do some dry seafood shopping, usually the elders would end the walk with a beer as this tradition can be leaded by the regulars who joins this walk as I would probably jump on the bus heading back to Tung Chung.
The walk would constantly passing public toilets and small villages but it doesnt give you an excuse not to bring anything, so bring the usual standard gear just like to any other trampers walk, 3litres of water is a must!!!!! If it is raining or threatening to rain (thunderstorm warning), the walk will be cancelled. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517 (if Vivek answers, tell him its time to wake up!!!). And remember -- don't be late! Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water, good shoes, stuff that glows in the dark etc. Disclaimer:- People join this walk at their own risks. I shall not be held responsible in any way for any injury or death incurred or any loss or damage to personal property caused due to whatever causes including, but not limited to, negligence, neglect, errors of judgment and inadequate orientation skills on my part. The fact that you show up at the time and place on the day to join the walk is an implication that you have agreed to and accepted unconditionally this disclaimer.
