| Walk on 24th May: Hong Kong trail (Revised) |
We had to cancel it on Sunday so this is reposted. We will do a long walk this coming Thursday, May 24, 2007. The weather forecast looks not too bad and hopefully we will get a bit lucky and stay dry. Basically, this week we will do a 25 kilometre walk rated as a two two booter. The trail is really wide and clearly marked so it should not be very slippery. If the rain gets too heavy we do have the option of an early exit. We will meet outside Pacific Coffee up at Victoria Peak at 11.00 AM. You can take the Peak Tram from Central or alternatively there are several buses from Central Bus station going up to the peak - I think Bus No 15. Also there are minibuses from Star Ferry. This walk is 25 kilometres and is virtually flat. There are some beautiful wooded sections and sometimes it is hard to believe that you are just a stone's throw away from Central. Please come prepared with some gear for protection from the rain. If in doubt on the morning of the walk, call 8209-0517. And remember -- don't be late! The ten minute waiting rule applies. Remember to bring all the usual gear, in particular lots of water, good shoes, lunch, rain gear and a hat. Also, bring some lunch for along the way. Disclaimer:- People join this walk at their own risks. I shall not be held responsible in any way for any injury or death incurred or any loss or damage to personal property caused due to whatever causes including, but not limited to, negligence, neglect, errors of judgment and inadequate orientation skills on my part. The fact that you show up at the time and place on the day to join the walk is an implication that you have agreed to and accepted unconditionally this disclaimer. Last update: 25-05-2007 09:16
