All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Meeting Place:             Tung Chung MTR Station.

Exact Meeting area:   Exit B, Ticketing Area.

Time:                              10.40am

After 10 mins of waiting, we would be catching the bus to Shek Pik Reservoir, where we would get off just at the end of the dam, from there, we would walk alongside the coast on a South Westerly direction and head towards Fan Lau where there should be an old Qing Dynasty Fort and also a mysterious neolithic stone circle(mysterious because those who have seen it can't figure out how anyone knows it's neolithic) which is heavily protected by the HK Government. From Fan Lau, we will head back north along the western coast of the island.

This walk is fairly long, but it does not involve an undue amount of hill climbing. In hot weather, it can be very brutal and I would be tempted to give it a three boot rating, but at this time of year it is mostly trying on account of its length. Accordingly, I'm giving it only a two boot rating cos I once did this walk with a few elders and some Super Trampers on a hot humid day and we completed it within 4 hours so maybe my 2 boot classification is a 3 boot to some hikers.

Because of its length, and since the days are still relatively short and the bus ride from Tung Chung is fairly long, we need to make a prompt start from Tung Chung station, so please try not to be late. I will not definetly be waiting more than 10 minutes for any stragglers, even if I know you are on your way.

There are no restaurants along the way, so remember to bring a lunch, plenty of water(at least 2 litres), a hat, sunscreen, good foot wear, plenty of fruit, some chocolates and all the other usual and sensible walking gear.  If it is raining or threatening to rain, the walk will be cancelled.  Visit this site on the early hours of the proposed date to check if it is cancelled or not.  If in any severly doubt call the hotline 8209 0517

PS: Also bring a torch + new batteries.....................just in case something happens.
