All our walks are led by volunteers and are planned one week in advance.  If you don't see an itinerary on our homepage, that means no one has proposed anything yet.  And if one is not posted by Saturday, you can safely assume that there is no walk the following day.

We communicate via our website and we do not maintain a mailing list.

Saying Goodbye to Our Country Parks
Written by Designing Hong Kong
The Chief Executive has referred the map of the Clear Water Bay Country Park to the Country and Marine Parks Authority to excise an area of 5 hectares for the extension of the South East New Territories landfill.

The Board of the authority could have said no or recommended a new area to be added under section 4 of the Country Park Ordinance (Cap. 208). It did neither.

Instead, the Board spent its time reviewing the need for the landfill extension and failed to ask for a compensation to protect the country park.

Proposal for Night walk on 10th September 2006
Written by Francis

1.     In light of the summer heat and humidity, I am proposing a Night Walk on 10th September 2006 (Sunday).  The idea of a night walk comes from a bittersweet experience --- see the walk report for the walk on 28th May 2006.  It will be a real night walk, and my initial idea is that we'll meet at 12.15am (no kidding, I mean 0015 hours in the morning) on Sunday10th September 2006 at Quarry Bay MTR station and start walking on the eastern part of Hong Kong Island.  The walk will finish at around 7.00am in the Sunday morning.

Summer Sojourn in California

Eureka! by Donna Elliot

Besides Neil and I, there are some 37 million others who call California “home”.  This makes it the USA’s largest State by population.  However, because of its physical size (770 miles long and 250 miles wide at its most distant points) and the concentration of population in small areas, there are wilderness areas where people rarely tread.  So, although there are plenty of people in the cities, we and our tent were completely alone at Budd Lake in Yosemite and Dade Lake in the Sierra Nevada’s.  Cool…

We are in Wikipedia

I have made 3 or 4 treks with the Trampers, and I have fond memories. I was reading the Wikipedia article about "Tramper" and thought that your web site would be an excellent reference, so I included it. See this link:

Hope to see you again soon,
